Technolgy - Invention of the first laser
The ruby laser was used in many early spectacular experiments. One amusing one, in 1969, sent a light beam to the Moon, where it was reflected back from a retro-reflector placed on the Moon's surface by astronauts in the U.S. Apollo program. The round-trip travel time of the pulse provided a measurement of the distance to the Moon. Later, ruby laser beams sent out and received by telescopes measured distances to the Moon with a precision of about three centimeters—a great use of the ruby laser's short pulses.
When the first laser appeared, scientists and engineers were not really prepared for it. Many people said to me—partly as a joke but also as a challenge—that the laser was "a solution looking for a problem." But by bringing together optics and electronics, lasers opened up vast new fields of science and technology. And many different laser types and applications came along quite soon.

Its a time of new suits, new dresses and patent leather shoes. And a time of chocolate bunnies, marshmallow chicks, and colored eggs!

Mothers Day
Mother's Day is a time of commemoration and celebration for Mom. It is a time of breakfast in bed, family gatherings, and crayon scribbled "I Love You"s. Join our Celebration With a Tribute to "Your" Mom - Share your Words, Poetry, and Pictures of your Mom

Fathers Day
Father's Day commemorates and celebrates Dad. How To....Make Red Velvet Cake

Ingrediants
1 pkg. (2-layer size) white cake mix
2 squares BAKER'S Unsweetened Baking Chocolate, melted
1 Tbsp. red food coloring
1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, melted
1 pkg. (16 oz.) powdered sugar (about 4 cups)
1/2 cup chopped PLANTERS Pecans
Procedure
PREPARE and bake cake mix as directed on package for 2 (9-inch) round cake layers, adding chocolate and food coloring with water, eggs and oil; cool completely.
BEAT cream cheese and butter with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Gradually add sugar, beating well after each addition. Stir in pecans.
FILL and frost cake layers with cream cheese frosting.
